Standard Divert Dart - SDD

Standard Diverter Dart Overview - The SDD is the Dart of choice for most drilling applications.

When pumped into place, the SDD holds the ports open and blocks off the through-bore to the BHA below. When the pumps are off, the ports of the valve remain open.

With the versatility of offering multiple applications, the SDD is also a time saver for tripping dry to surface and or jetting BOP's

SDD Primary Applications
  • Spotting LCM
  • Hole Cleaning
  • Dry Tripping
  • BOP/Wellhead Jetting
  • Differential Sticking
  • Fluid/Mud Displacement
  • Pack-Offs
  • Pipe Filling

Case History:
Cure losses, hole clean then trip out of hole dry
Onshore Italy 2010
ENI set about an ambitious pair of wells - Monte Alpi & Monte Enoc – with valves used in both the extended 12-1/4” and 8-1/2” sections. primarily as a loss-curing contingency. Great value was provided additionally when tripping out of hole. On each run the Standard Diverter Dart was used to condition the hole as well as giving a faster dry-tripping exit. With loss intervals also cured the darts delivered both specified performance and enhanced operating efficiencies.
Conclusion: SDD delivers LCM spotting and Hole Cleaning performance with added savings from the inherent dry-tripping mode
